An extracurricular program in which students themselves decide how to spend part of the school’s budget by developing, presenting, and voting on their own projects.
The “School Participatory Budgeting” (SPB) program is an innovative educational initiative developed by the “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO, which gives students the opportunity to take part, through hands-on experience, in decisions about how a portion of the school’s budget is allocated. The program is based on “learning by doing” and project-based learning approaches: students identify real needs of their school or community, develop and publicly present projects addressing them, draw up realistic budgets, vote, and carry out the winning initiatives.
In this way, the school becomes a platform for collaboration, transparency, and joint creativity, where every student can become an active participant in the school’s development and an initiator of change.
This program was developed and is being implemented by the “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO using its own resources.
