Dear residents,
Do you want to play a more active role in your community’s life, understand how the local self-governance system works, and make your ideas and voice heard in the community?
The “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO invites you to participate in a motivational meeting aimed at raising awareness among women and persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE MEETING
Our meeting will consist of practical, interactive, and motivational segments, focusing on the following key topics:
-
What is democracy and participation? We will talk about the fundamental principles of democracy: freedom, rights, equality, and responsibility. We will discuss why residents are not merely service recipients, but active participants in community development.
-
The community and local self-governance:We will analyze how decisions are made in communities in a simple and accessible way. We will discuss the roles and powers of the community head and the council (Avagani), as well as the responsibility of managing the community budget.
-
Political ideologies:We will explore how different political forces (liberalism, socialism, conservatism) view the resolution of community issues differently. We will discuss the importance of involving women and individuals with diverse experiences in political decision-making.
-
Practical work – “My Political Values and Ideology”:We will conduct an individual test using the “Political Compass” tool. This will help you better understand your own values and preferences for making informed choices or engaging in politics in the future.
-
Discovering future leaders and candidates:At the end of the meeting, we will use questionnaires to discuss the possibilities and willingness to nominate your candidacy or that of active local women for the upcoming local government elections.
