Open Government Partnership: Experience Exchange and Capacity Building in Vanadzor

On April 27, an experience exchange and training session dedicated to the development of the Local Open Government Partnership (OGP) was held in Vanadzor. By bringing together local government and CSO representatives from Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Armavir, and Metsamor, we created a platform for collective learning and the sharing of best practices.

The first half of the day featured a training titled “Application of Monitoring and Evaluation Tools within the Local OGP Framework,” held at the NGO Center office. Participants were introduced to the newly developed Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. Understanding and applying this framework will enable participants to evaluate the performance of commitments undertaken by their respective communities.

In the second half of the day, an experience exchange meeting took place at the Vanadzor Municipality. Lilya Davtyan, Head of the Development Programs, External Relations, and IT Department of the Vanadzor Municipality, presented the implementation progress, successes, challenges overcome, and lessons learned from Vanadzor’s first OGP Action Plan. The co-creation process for the new Action Plan was also presented.

This event was organized within the framework of the “Unlocking Progress: Reflecting on the Vanadzor and Gyumri OGP Action Plan” project, implemented by the “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO with the support of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and funding from the European Union.
