“Electoral Model”: A Simulation Game on National Assembly Elections Educational Manual, 2026
How is the National Assembly formed? Who takes part in an election, and how is each voter’s choice protected? Participants in this game answer these questions by playing the election through themselves.
The “Electoral Model” manual is designed for young people, first-time voters and civil society actors. Participants go through the full course of a parliamentary election, from campaigning and public debates to voting and counting the results. They play political parties, election commissions, observers, media representatives, proxies and voters. Along the way they face situations close to real life and look for solutions within the framework of electoral law.
The method draws on the “Model UN” and “Model Armenia” simulation games and on David Kolb’s experiential learning model. Participants play first and then reflect on the experience together, which helps them turn theory into practical skills.
The manual includes everything needed to run the game:
- role-specific reading materials,
- a detailed facilitator’s guide,
- a baseline profile of the fictional state,
- templates for ballots, protocols and other election documents.
