Project Goal
The primary goal of the project is to support the conservation of Armenia’s rich biodiversity and promote sustainable local development in the communities adjacent to Dilijan National Park. The project utilizes the “Financial Participatory Approach” (FPA) to ensure the direct and active involvement of local communities in their own development processes.
Key Objectives
- Community Engagement: Form working groups within target communities and ensure residents’ active participation in decision-making processes.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct Participatory Rapid Rural Appraisals (PRRA) to identify the priority needs and challenges of the communities.
- Project Planning: Develop project support plans based on identified community needs and FPA principles.
- Capacity Building: Strengthen the capacities of local self-government bodies and community groups to ensure effective management and sustainability of the initiatives.
This initiative is a component of the broader project “Biodiversity and Sustainable Local Development in Armenia.” In collaboration with WWF-Armenia, NGO Center provides facilitation and consultancy services aimed at community self-organization. The project involves organizing community meetings, defining priorities, and developing micro-projects that contribute to both environmental conservation and the improvement of local livelihoods.
