Community-Based Ecotourism as a Sustainable Livelihoods in Tumanyan Region

Project is implemented by NGO Center for Civil Society Development NGO funded by UNDP Global Grants Program (SGP) in Armenia.

The end goal of the project is to conserve forest resources and vital ecosystem services to improve local livelihoods.

The main purpose : Contribute to the reduction of forest dependence on the local population of Dsegh and adjacent communities through the use of ecotourism potential and eco-education.

 

The specific results of the project are:

  • Eco-attractive tourism destinations and resources in Dsegh, Debed, Vahagni and Dzoragyugh communities are mapped and included in the newsletter
  • Wildlife and Nature eco clubs are set up in the schools of Lori, Shirak and Tavush marzes to promote eco-sensitive and environmental stance
  • Road infrastructure is established in the target community
  • Present the Dsegh community as the most interesting eco, cultural, adventure and historical tourism market.
