NGO Center has joined the Vitoria-Gasteiz Declaration

“NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO has joined the Vitoria-Gasteiz Declaration.

Its goal is to unite governments, civil society organizations, and partners worldwide to strengthen democracy, protect civic space, and promote open, accountable, and inclusive governance.

The Declaration was adopted ahead of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) IX Global Summit and reaffirms the commitment to the principles of open government transparency, participation, and accountability.

It highlights the following key areas of cooperation:

  • Protection of democracy and civic space by ensuring human rights and fundamental freedoms, including freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and access to information.
  • Promotion of open government principles at all levels of governance through strengthened transparency, accountability, and participation.
  • Advancement of international cooperation on democracy protection, climate action, sustainable development, information integrity, and governance of new technologies.
  • Mobilization of political will and leadership to restore trust and deliver effective and fair outcomes through open government.

The Vitoria-Gasteiz Declaration is voluntary and does not create legal or financial obligations, but it represents an important step toward uniting the global open government community and strengthening democracy.
