Dialogue4Progress: “Legal Regulation Mechanisms and Needs of the Charitable Sector: Why Regulate the Charitable Sector?”

On September 5th, International Charity Day, the NGO Center organized a panel discussion titled “Legal Regulation Mechanisms and Needs of the Charitable Sector: Why Regulate the Charitable Sector?” This event was also part of the #Dialogue4Progress forum series, which aims to promote dialogue between state and civil society structures.

The discussion featured Lilit Stepanyan, a member of the Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia and MP; Lilya Afrikyan, Coordinator of the Open Government Partnership-Armenia Initiative from the External Relations Department of the Prime Minister’s Office; and Ani Samsonyan, a policy development expert.

The speakers addressed the current legal regulation mechanisms and existing needs in the charitable sector. They presented their views on the importance of regulating the charitable sector and proposed mechanisms that could contribute to its effective operation.

During the discussion, participants identified the main challenges in sector regulation and explored possible solutions. They also addressed how existing legislation could be improved to make the work of charitable organizations more effective.

The event facilitated the exchange of opinions on issues related to the legal regulation of the charitable sector and the discussion of possible solutions. It was an important step towards the development and sustainability of the charitable sector in Armenia.
