Dialogue4Progress: “Charity as a Culture: Why Promote a Culture of Philanthropy?”

On September 5th, International Charity Day, the NGO Center organized a panel discussion titled “Charity as a Culture: Why Promote a Culture of Philanthropy?” The event was part of the #Dialogue4Progress forum series, which aims to foster dialogue between state and civil society structures.

The discussion featured expert panelists Mariam Poghosyan, a member of the Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia; Eline Santrosyan, Head of the Integrated Social Services Department in the Demography and Family Social Guarantees Division of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs; and Marina Mkhitaryan, Executive Director of the Armenian General Benevolent Union’s Armenian office. They addressed various aspects of the charitable environment in Armenia.

The speakers presented their vision for promoting a culture of philanthropy in Armenia. They discussed the role of charity in addressing social challenges and proposed methods to raise public awareness about the importance of philanthropy.

The event contributed to identifying challenges and opportunities in the field of philanthropy. It also fostered collaboration between representatives of various sectors aimed at developing a culture of philanthropy in Armenia. The discussion marked an important step towards further development and strengthening of the charitable sector in Armenia.
