Trainings for Youth and Teachers to Develop Soft Skills Based on LUT University Training

In July 2025, the “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO organized a series of in-house multiplication trainings within the framework of the “DeSIRe” project. The purpose of the trainings was to develop the soft skills of teachers and young people, which are essential for the modern labor market and community development.

The sessions were facilitated by experienced professionals Arpine Hakobyan and Vahe Khachikyan.

The trainings covered four main thematic areas:

  •  Media & Digital Literacy Skills (Module 1)
  • Prioritizing & Decision-Making Skills (Module 4)
  • Creative Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills (Module 5)
  • Emotional & Social Intelligence (MOOC 5)

Over the course of two days, eight interactive sessions were held with the participation of more than 329 participants. The trainings combined theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, group discussions, role-playing activities, and action planning, ensuring immediate applicability.

Participants acquired essential skills in identifying media manipulation, fact-checking, and applying time and task management tools (Eisenhower Matrix, Priority Tree). They also explored creative thinking methods (SCAMPER, lateral thinking) and developed their emotional intelligence through the Forum Theatre method.

Participants highlighted the interactive format of the sessions, their practical applicability, and the innovative methods used. Many noted their readiness to apply the acquired knowledge in teaching, youth work, and community initiatives.
