A second focus group discussion was held for the purpose of local OGP monitoring

  On December 15, the second focus group discussion was held in the city of Vanadzor within the framework of the  “Community Based Monitoring for Effective Local Democracy” project.

The focus group discussion was attended by the representatives of ” “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO., “Winnet Vanadzor” NGO, “Lusastgh”  NGO, “We”  Youth NGO, and “Restart Vanadzor” NGO.

In the focus group discussion, reference was made to  OGP action plan of Vanadzor-Gyumri cities, in particular, to the undertaken by the city of Vanadzor. .

The commitments  of OGP are:

  • Transparent management of community resources
  • Interactive budget input.
  • Improving the level of transparency of the municipal budget based on the principle of “open data”.
  • Provision of information on access to community facilities for persons with disabilities
  • Installation of an interactive screen of the community development program in Vanadzor and Gyumri
  • Provision of urban “green” transport.

The Specific Objectives of ‘’Community Based Monitoring for Effective Local Democracy” project  are:

To implement monitoring and oversight of the local action plan commitments in Yerevan, Vanadzor, Gyumri and Armavir communities of Armenia, ideally focusing on approaches that can be scalable across action plan cycles.
